James Brown, Executive Director
James Brown is responsible for the overall operations and management of Center Communities of Brookline overseeing the maintenance, nutrition, fitness, administrative, and resident services departments, and ensuring the highest quality of care to the residents. Prior to joining Center Communities of Brookline in 2019, James was on active duty for the Massachusetts National Guard as a regional medical planner coordinating National Guard medical capabilities with civilian medical agencies and operations officer responsible for the budget and training of a medical group. James has over 15 years of health care experience both as a clinician and administrator. James holds a Master’s in Physical Therapy from Quinnipiac University, a Doctor of Physical Therapy from MGH Institute for Health Professionals and a Masters of Business Administration from Endicott College.
Sophia Smith, Director of Property Management
Sophia Smith is responsible for the oversight of property management services across Hebrew SeniorLife (HSL) housing sites. She creates, implements, and upholds administrative policies, procedures, and rules that conform to HUD and local housing authority guidelines and best practices. Sophia ensures the highest quality of services are provided to all residents. Sophia has over 19 years of experience in property management. Sophia is a Certified Property Manager CPM ® and has obtained this designation through the Institute of Real Estate Management-IREM.
Jill MacDonald, Director of Community Life
Jill is responsible for the successful and smooth delivery of programs and resident services across Center Communities of Brookline. In this key role, Jill upholds and delivers the highest Hebrew SeniorLife and industry standards with regards to safety, professionalism, service, and quality of care, and works collaboratively with leaders from across the Hebrew SeniorLife continuum, including our long-term chronic care, medicine, chaplaincy, rehabilitation, home health, private care, and hospice divisions to ensure the best possible quality of life for residents. Prior to Center Communities of Brookline, Jill was the director of member services and fitness director at NewBridge on the Charles. She has her bachelor’s of science from Westfield State College in exercise physiology with a strong emphasis on geriatrics.
Tammy Sadok, Director of Social Services
Tammy Sadok oversees and provides social services to the residents and family members of Center Communities of Brookline to help support their best life in accordance with their values and goals. She has been with Hebrew SeniorLife since 1990, previously providing social services for the long-term chronic care residents of the Hebrew Rehabilitation Center and facilitating admissions to long-term chronic care both at HRC-Boston and HRC-NewBridge. Tammy holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Brandeis University and a master's degree in social work from Simmons College.
James Dormady, Director of Facilities
Jim Dormady is responsible for the physical operations of Center Communities, a position he has held for more than 20 years. Jim and his crew perform preventative maintenance on every mechanical system on a monthly basis as well as all snow removal. Jim, along with two of his crew members, rotate a 24-hour call schedule. Jim is also responsible for the preparation of the capital and operations budgets for the maintenance and housekeeping departments.
