Biography
Sarah Sjöström is the chief nursing officer & vice president of patient care services at Hebrew SeniorLife’s Hebrew Rehabilitation Center – Boston. In this role, Sarah leads teams delivering direct patient care on the chronic care and rehabilitative services units. She oversees nursing services, social services, outpatient nursing, spiritual care services, volunteer services, the bilingual/translation services, and recreation therapy across both the Boston and Dedham Hebrew Rehabilitation Center campuses.
Sarah joined Hebrew SeniorLife in 2010. Prior to being named as the CNO & VP of Patient Care Services in 2025, she served as the associate chief nursing officer & VP of Ancillary Services as well as the director of Nursing and Respiratory Care on the Medical Acute Care Unit, where she was responsible for the overall quality of care delivery for patients with acute and chronic medical conditions requiring complex medical care. Before working at Hebrew SeniorLife, Sarah conducted biological research at Dana Faber Cancer Institute.
Sarah earned her bachelor of science in biology at Tufts University in 2003 and her master of science in nursing at the MGH Institute of Health Professions in 2010, and is currently enrolled at Johns Hopkins University in the DNP executive/MPH dual degree program. She was a Schwartz Center National Compassionate Caregiver of the Year nominee in 2016, earning honorable mention, and a recipient of the Organization for Nurse Leaders Presidential Award in 2023.
