Biography

Mark S. Johnson, CPA, FACHE, is an accomplished finance and operations professional with experience in
health care organizations in Boston and nationwide. He previously served as interim CFO at CareWell
Health Medical Center and as senior vice president of financial operations at Beth Israel Lahey Health,
where he played a key role in the Beth Israel-Lahey Health merger.

Mark is recognized for his strategic thinking, operational expertise, and dedication to mentoring team
members into leadership roles, reflecting Hebrew SeniorLife’s commitment to employee development.
He holds a master’s in accounting from the University of Mississippi and a bachelor’s in professional
accountancy from Mississippi State University. Mark is a certified public accountant, a fellow of the
American College of Health Care Executives, and a past president of its Rhode Island chapter. He also
volunteers as chair of the Finance Committee for the town of Plainville.
