Dr. Rhodes-Kropf earned her bachelor of science from Duke University and her medical degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She completed her internal medicine internship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, followed by her residency at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center. She then pursued a two-year geriatrics fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital, specializing in palliative medicine.
She has received two government geriatric academic career awards for training residents in best practices for caring for older adults.
Dr. Rhodes-Kropf was a faculty member at Albert Einstein College of Medicine for six years while treating patients at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx. Since 2008, she has been part of the Division of Geriatrics at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. She is also an assistant professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School, where she teaches trainees at all levels.
She maintains board certifications in internal medicine, geriatrics, and hospice and palliative medicine/chronic pain management.
