Biography

Deb Morse is the vice president of real estate for Hebrew SeniorLife and oversees all aspects of the real estate pipeline, including the planning and implementation of the new affordable senior housing communities in Dorchester, Randolph, Brookline, Roslindale, and Stoughton. All of the new communities have been designed and constructed to meet Passive House standards and the financing has been structured so that very low-income, frail seniors are able to live in these communities.

Prior to joining Hebrew SeniorLife, she worked at MassHousing, where she was responsible for managing staff to ensure that the Commonwealth’s annual affordable housing production and preservation goals were met. As part of her work at MassHousing, she managed perhaps the most urgent housing preservation crisis facing the Commonwealth, was part of the leadership team that developed and implemented the $100 million Workforce Housing Initiative that sought to create 1,000 units of housing affordable to middle-income households, and was the lead staff person for the Housing Task Force within the Governor’s Council to Address Aging in Massachusetts. In her work as a developer and planner, she has partnered with equity investors, lenders, local officials, planning agencies, residents, and other stakeholders to create consensus-driven and implementable multi-phased neighborhood revitalization plans. She has overseen more than $1 billion in affordable housing projects representing more than 2,000 units of housing. She serves on the City of Cambridge’s LGBTQ+ Housing Task Force and volunteers with Bread of Life and Community Servings.
