Biography

Caren Silverlieb is executive director of Jack Satter House, a 266-unit, HUD-subsidized, senior housing community with supportive services located on Revere Beach in Revere, Massachusetts. Caren oversees the administration, facilities, resident services, and dining services, working with a staff of 40 and 288 residents to coordinate activities, events, and services.


Caren received her master’s degree in the management of human services with a concentration in aging from the Heller Graduate School at Brandeis University. She has held executive management positions in government-funded affordable housing, assisted living, nonprofit and private community-based long-term care, and private consulting, always at the intersection of housing and services for older adults. She is a frequent presenter at state and national conferences, private companies, universities, and to the public on various topics relevant to housing for older adults, including people with Alzheimer’s disease in the community, end-of-life planning at every age, and bullying and bystander training. Caren serves on the community advisory committee and board of directors of Newton Community Development Foundation.
