Sarah Berry, MD, MPH, is a clinical researcher at the Hinda and Arthur Marcus Institute for Aging Research, where her primary research focuses on outcomes following hip fractures, both in the community and nursing home settings. Given the strong link between falls and fracture, Dr. Berry is interested in studying novel and modifiable risk factors for falls. Her current funding is through the National Institute on Aging, and she aims to conduct a large, observational study to determine the safest drugs to treat cardiometabolic disease. In addition, she currently conducts a pilot trial to develop and implement an effective program to prevent injurious falls in the nursing home.
Dr. Berry is also an academic geriatrician in musculoskeletal health at Hebrew Rehabilitation Center in Boston. She has served as a past program director for the Harvard Medical School Multicampus Geriatric Medicine Fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Dr. Berry received her Bachelor of Science in biomedical sciences from Auburn University in Alabama and her medical degree from the University of Alabama Medical School. She completed her medical internship and residency programs at the University of Utah Health Sciences Center, and fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
